Computerized Assessments and Learning, the leading provider of online assessments, currently has an opening for a senior-level Web Designer/Developer to support the expansion of our operations. This position is responsible for creating engaging, visually appealing, intuitive and interactive web applications. The candidate must have considerable experience designing and developing web applications using complex Javascript and CSS as opposed to designing simple web pages. Responsibilities: • Design, script (code), implement and lead the development of accessible, cross-platform web sites and web applications. • Translate ideas, workflows and wireframes into valid, semantically structured web pages and stylesheets. Candidate must be able to develop complex layouts using best practices. • Translate concepts and information into visually compelling user interfaces under tight deadlines. • Create prototypes to aid planning phase of development projects. • Conduct feasibility reviews of design concepts with graphic design team members Requirements: • 3 + years experience in launching successful interactive web applications as a key member of a web development, application development, or user experience team. • 4+ years of experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML. • 3+ years of experience with Javascript (DOM Scripting, AJAX), ActionScript (Flash). • Extremely comfortable with Javascript libraries like Prototype, JQuery, MochiKit. • Knowledge of web browser compatibility issues and workarounds (Mac and PC). • Strong understanding of web standards, object-oriented design and software development principles. • Strong knowledge of accessibility laws and accessible development techniques. Relevant Qualifications: • Bachelors in Arts or Sciences or equivalent experience. • Working knowledge of back-end web development and integration with databases. • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and participate in varying levels of programming effort.
